What is fascia?

Fascia is a dense, 3-dimensional web of connective tissue which spreads continually from your head to your toes. It surrounds and infuses every single structure in your body, all the way down to the cellular level. When restrictions develop within your fascia, a once pliable tissue becomes solidified and is capable of exerting up to 2,000 pounds per square inch of tensile pressure upon the structures it surrounds. These structures include your cells, blood vessels, nerves, muscles, bones, and every internal organ. Fascial restrictions in any area can lead to a plethora of seemingly unrelated pain symptoms throughout the body.
