This past Saturday, December 9, there was a half-page article on The Healing House of Round Rock, LLC in the Round Rock Leader newspaper! Complete with a picture of yours truly, the article told a bit about my dream for the House, and a few of the folks already on board. I am so excited and blessed to be creating this vision! To read the article, you can subscribe to the Leader online, or you can stop by their office and pick up a copy. I also have a House copy that you can read when you come visit. = ) www.rrleader.com

Our ribbon cuttings and Open House were huge successes! It has been a blast sharing The House with the community. If you missed the events and would like a Grand Tour, give me a call and we'll set up a time.

If you need some last-minute Christmas gifts I can help you with that, too. I have gift certificates for massage, Myofascial Release and Reiki, as well as the famous Skinny Dip candles (the candle you use on your skin) and BioFlexor, a pain-relieving gel. I would love to help you be a hero this holiday season!

    Cheers!

Earlier this week I received a wonderful gift.

Meredtih Maples, from the American Cancer Society, presented me with a beautiful plaque acknowledging my "exemplary service." I am touched and honored by this show of appreciation, and wish to pass along my gratitude to everyone who contributed to my fundraising efforts. To date, 60 people have contributed funds totalling $2,257 dollars! Wow! Thank you all for helping me to prove that one dedicated soul truly can make a difference, especially with the help of their community. ; )

  • Public speaking is fun!

    11/29/200711:12:08 AM Link |  | Add comment

    Date : 9/23/06

This week I had the honor of speaking at my first conference.

My audience was sixty women employed in the financial aid division of higher education across Texas. The conference, sponsored by Sallie Mae Education Trust, focused on leadership and was called Empower U. My presentation, "Empowering YOU to Take Control of Your Health", provided these women with information on ways that stress affects their health, and gave them tools to decrease these effects. The presentation was well-received and I heard many commments later that they were grateful for the chance to let go and unwind, and that they would be implementing these new ideas into their daily lives.

I have discovered a great passion in public speaking, and look forward to future opportunities to share self-care and wellness techniques in a public setting.

If you would like to empower those in your workplace to be proactive with their health, I do hope that you will consider inviting me to share my knowledge. You and they will reap the rewards of decreased stress, decreased pain, decreased sick time and increased productivity, increased focus, and increased energy.

Dr. Joe Dispenza, from "What the Bleep Do We Know Anyway?" will be presenting a two hour seminar at Unity Church of the Hills on Friday, September 22. He will share how the mind can affect the body and the perception of reality through personal physiology, giving insights into what a person can do to make lasting results in everyday life.

I had the honor of hearing Dr. Dispenza speak last year at a "What the Bleep" conference here in Austin and was absolutely mesmerized. I highly recommend registering for this eye-opening, life-changing event!

Evolving Your Brain: The Science of Changing Your Mind with Dr. Joe Dispenza
As seen in the movie "What the Bleep Do We Know?"

    Event Type: Seminar
    Date: Friday, September 22
    Time: 7:30 - 9:30PM, followed by Q & A
Cost: $30 per person in advance, $35 at the door

What are the ways in which we can interact with our self and make lasting change? If I make an effort, will I see a measurable result? How do I break the habit of being myself long enough to bring effective changes in my life?

In this seminar, Dr. Joe will lecture on the biology of change. He will share what he has learned, experienced and researched throughout the years as student, teacher and doctor. He will share how the mind can affect the body and the perception of reality through personal physiology, giving insights into what a person can do to make lasting results in everyday life.

With the dynamic combination of science and accessible how-to, Dispenza will inform you on using the most important tool in your body and life – the brain.

Joe Dispenza, D.C studied biochemistry at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, N.J. and went on to receive his Doctor of Chiropractic Degree at Life University in Atlanta, Georgia, graduating magna cum laude. Dr. Dispenza's postgraduate training and continuing education has been in neurology, neurophysiology, functional brain imaging, brain function, neuroplasticity, cellular biology, memory formation and genetics. His forthcoming book, Evolving Your Brain: The Science of Changing Your Mind connects the subjects of thought, brain, body, mind and consciousness.

His work attracted the attention of the producers of the movie, What the BLEEP Do We Know? And he is one of the 14 scientists, researchers and teachers featured in that multi-award winning hit movie.
